i tried squid instalation it works but the yahoo chat and all chat which works on java is unable to connect If you can help in setting up the squid i'll be grateful to you kindly mail me

Hi Nazeer,
Java applications like that chat windows, does not support connections trough a proxy server (ej Squid).

You need to up the masquerade service, (with IPchains or IPtables). Please send to me the private (internal) IP address that are using in your LAN, and we reviewing your need.
