This looks a bit like homework. Can you tell us what your objective is?

1. Why we are using Patch Panel ?
Whenever you need to change connections easily (The earliest example was maybe in telephone exchanges?)

To keep track of which wire is which, maybe?

Patch panels are generally used so that cable can be easily routed through areas that aren't in everyone's way - such as the ceiling, cable pans, etc. - and can be 'dropped' to convenient and distributed locations. Let me suggest wikipedia for more information on these.

You're really going to have to be a little more specific here. Just about everything in the networking world is some form of "I/O Box."

Do you mean different colors of cable (can be used to differentiate between straight-through, rollover, crossover, etc. cables) or the different colored wires within the cable (used to move electrons, the principle upon which binary data is transmitted)?

Generally you can do whatever makes you happy/seems easiest to you. In my experience, you generally have to make a serious mess of a rack or two (or have an ol' pro give you some pointers) before you really start to understand what should be where and what works best for you. Dig in, man, don't be afraid to get your hands dirty...

4. This is obviously a trick question, because none of the proposed stacking orders include wire management.

Anyone half way decent in structured cabling, would NEVER leave out the cable management from their racks.

Network cabling done wrong

More nice cable management

Aww, dammit, guess I got that one wrong. Do they allow resubmission of assignments?
