I 'm running SUSE Linux 9 Pro and I have alcatel speedtouch home adsl modem.
But I can not connect to the internet with Kinternet or with rp-pppoe
What I'm doing wrong? Any suggestions?
Yeah it's easier becauce it don't needs drivers for the modem but maybe I have software problem. Kinternet and rp-pppoe don't connects to my ISP
I'll keep searching...
Kinternet and rpppoe may not be aware of USB modems, so you'll have to start the connection manually (as with the tutorial). If you've got a modem that works over ethernet, then you may be able to set up your Linux box to use DHCP, in which case you won't have to do any configuration at all, it'll Just Work (once you've told your Linux box to connect using DHCP). If your ethernet style modem is actually an ADSL router, then you're laughing.
