Hi. I'm using Kubuntu under Dapper and my wireless was acting up, so I used the bcm34**-wfcutter or whatever it's called and that fixed my wireless problem. Now I am having LAN problems. When I run "route" I don't get any info in the table. Also, I recently added 1GB of RAM, which I have heard causes problems with the wirless card. I would like to get both problems fixed, but LAN is my #1 priority right now.
I dont use ubuntu however you may need to activate you network before it will operate. See if you have a gui tool for network devices. Your extra ram should not have any bearing on your wireless card !
When I run the "Networking" application, it says my Wireless connection (eth1) is active, my Ethernet connection (eth0) is active and my Modem connection is not configured (I don't use it.) I set my default gateway to be eth0 and I use DHCP.
Solved it. Had to make a profile in the "Networking" app...I deleted the one I had before because I thought it was odd having a profile from across the country.
