Having internet connection problems in SUSE Linux 9.1 Professional
I recently purchased SUSE Linux 9.1 Professional to replace Windows XP... I reformated the hard drive, and removed all Windows files and than sucessfully installed Linux. I have the OS up and running currently with no problems excluding the internet connection. I contacted my ISP to ask for support, and they said they do have a tech support department for Linux systems but they than said they wont help me... there was no explination as to why.. So, I have decided to try and post here and see if anyone would be nice enough to post some suggestions to me. ^.^ I have all our network stuff set up (the modem, router... etc.), and everything I just need to know how to configure the system to accept the connection... Our current connection is a DSL connection. I would be so greatful if someone could please help me out here.
P/S- this probably sounds like a dumb question (i am almost certain hardly anyone else would find this question hard), but do take it into mind i'm a :newbie: |
u said router so i'll ASSUME u have eth0 connected to the router and that the router does DHCP. if this be the case, as root try:
Code:
dhcpcd eth0 |
