Grid/Cluster Computing

I have read about a very good grid computing program called XGrid from apple that makes it very easy to set up a grid or cluster and use the resources of idle computers. Unfortunately this program only works on apple computers. Is there anything comparable to this program for linux or even windows?

Sun Grid Engine, Condor, maybe Mosix?. You could also make your own HA cluster using scripts, LVS, and Heartbeat.

GridGain

You should also check out GridGain (www.gridgain.com). It's Java-based and, hence platform independent.
