Ghetto Network - Help please!

Well first off, I'm new here, so Hi!

OK, here's the problem. I have an xbox in my room with my comp. My comp has a wireless card connected to the wifi router downstairs. Basically I need to have my xbox connect to the open ethernet port on my comp and share the connection. I have tried numerous ways and can't quite seem to get this to work - something always goes wrong.

I am using slackware, and I set up IP masquerading already using a tutorial on TLDP.org. Here's is where I get confused and have problems. What IP do I use for the ethernet port on my comp and what IP do I use for the xbox. Do I need to set up a DHCP server? Since my comp's wifi card has an IP of 192.168.0.103 and the router is 192.168.01, can I use a 192.168.0.x address? This and the subnet address confuses me.

Even though I don't really know what I am doing, I get the xbox to connect to my pc, but then it says "DNS server cannot be found." What do I tell it to look for, or do I need a DNS server on my pc too? Any help would be much appreciated. And please don't just say "go buy a wireless adapter." I already know I can do that and I don't have lots of cash to spend when this is free. Thanks.

So you get the XBox to connect to the PC? You can ping the XBox from the PC, for instance?

If you are using manual IP, did you give the XBox an IP for a DNS server?
