I have 1 PC with windows xp and proxy installed. now i'm trying to use this proxy on 2 linux machine.
I have already configured mozilla to use the proxy and it work perfectly. How can I setup the global use of proxy, so I could use kopete for example?

bit of an uncomfortable question really... there is no "global" proxy under linux. kopete may or may not have http proxy support now, looks like someone was going to add it last autumn. i would imagine that kopete, being a kde app would inherit proxy configurations from a kde level configuration, but i'm not familiar with kde at all to go further on that. but that setting will only affect kde apps. and you can use bash enviromental variables like http_proxy in your bashrc file but that is generally only used by lower level tools like curl and wget... so nothing "global" available i'm afraid.
