full install over network using netboot (not internet)

Is there any way to install an entire linux distro over the network and not have it reach out to the internet to grab all the files and instead grab the iso off the server? i currently have a edgy server with tftp and dhcp installed and it can install dapper, edgy and feisty (desktop and server versions) successfully. But I'm trying to minimize bandwidth since it's at my workplace. also since i have a mirror server running almost at the same time im sure you can understand.

if anyone knows how to do this please give me some pointers, I will be forever thankful.

hi,

yes - you can do that.
just make sure you have FTP/TFTP/HTTP server on,
make sure the client having the PXE-enable NIC,
copy the installation files or image to those server you've selected,
voila, there you have it.

do you know where to put the images? I put a feisty image into the /var/lib/tftpboot/ubuntu/feisty_server/ folder but it is always loading the image that makes it download from the net. .... this thing is quite frustrating. I wish there was a tutorial somewhere, since so far i have had no luck in finding one, except for a livecd share. but i just want to put the images onto the tftp/PXE/DHCP server and load them from it without have to make a repo server.

hi,

why dont you go to novell website, and search for remote-install.
you'll have the doc for PXE installation.
