FTP transfer jams!

I am trying to upload some files to my linux server, through ftp, but..

There are certain files that get uploaded, but others just jam!

The ones that jam, are not random, they are specific files that stop getting transfered. They other do transfer, so i dont thing the problem is quota..

Any suggestions?

how are the files named? keep in mind FTP won't work with any filenames that use "special" (i.e. not 128 characters US ASCII) characters.
