Lightbulb ftp: connect : connection refused


i recently installed Redhat Shrike and ran a command --

ftp localhost

but this doesnt work..

now how can i go about starting ftp services..
well one point i would like to mention is that i checked for services , where i didnt find any ftp command....

Probably you don't installed the right packages, try proftpd or wu-ftpd.

type:

# rpm -qa | grep ftp

That will tell you what ftp services you have installed, and we'll go from there!

tftp
ftp
ftpcopy
gftp
ncftp
tftp
lftp
vsftpd

now what do i do.. ??

Question ok

i got the above files along with some version nos too.. and i got it with the command

what cj said --

rpm -qa | grep ftp

now ....??
