Found this server at http://1:/

Hi,

While in Webmin (I know, I know) I did a search for other Webmin servers and got this (can't post URL, so remove the *):

Found this server at h*t*t*p://1:/"

What the heck is this?

Thanks,
Kit

It sounds like something particular to the browser you are using. What are you using?

IE 6 (God help me). It also does it on Mozilla 1.4.
...but the info is coming from Webmin - it's within the Webmin rendered page.

Well i guess no one here has ever setup an ipv6 network.
1: is localhost this is identical to 127.0.0.1, but how much easier is it to type.

This network (internal) is set up as an ipv4 network. Does this mean that the machines showing the "http://1/" designaton have been set up for ipv6?

(Thanks for your answer, by the way)

Well linux is almost fully ipv6 capable. Depending on what distro u have depends weather it is enabled. ipv6 can run transparently with ipv4. Also mac osx 10.3 is fully ipv6 capable if only macs were not as $$$ they would take over the world.
