Forming Homegroup between windows 7 and fedora 17 systems


Hi,
I have a PC running f 17 and a Laptop running windows 7. PC is connected through Ethernet port to a wireless router and Laptop is connected wirelessly to form a LAN. How can I access files on f 17 system from windows 7 system

You can not configure W7 with a home group, and have it work. It will work just fine if you configure W7 in the old way. There are lots of hits if you google it.

You need to configure a samba server on F17. You will give it a groupname. Set that groupname up in W7. On my network I have two W7 systems, two Vista systems, ( XP also ) and several linux systems. They can all connect to my 3 samba servers.
