Force PPP0 (CDMA Broadband) Default Route

Although my distro is currently ubuntu 8.10 this seems to affect other distros as well.

I have a cdma broadband card installed(usb/dev/ttyACM0).

I want to share it with another computer and a wii and psp through my router.

I have network manager connect to my router.
I then have network manager dial the cdma card.

Everything connects.

All routes dissapear. (route command is absolutely blank and actually freezes up).

No access to internet as the computer is not using ppp0 as the source of internet.

I have one current workaround. If I use gnome-ppp and have ppp0 dial an connect during the exact moment that wlan0 is connecting, then disconnect and reconnect ppp0 after they both connect, I have internet and the routes reappear. (route -n command works and shows connections)

On wlan0 I have tried static, dhcp, dhcp address only, and always the same result.

Consequently, every time the network (wlan0) renews addresses I lose my net connection till I fiddle with gnome-ppp again.

Anyone know how to force ppp0 to always be the internet connection?
