finding out the ips of computers on my lan

how do i find out the ip addresses of computers connected to my lan?

if it's "your lan" then you should know.

FIgure out your own ip - do a ping sweep of your subnet

If you know their hostname, just ping them by hostname (ie "ping computer4")

u might get some info via tcpdump (as root, of course).

or use nmap.
