finding if dhcp requests are being relayed

How can I know if DHCP requests from one of the laptops I have are reaching the router.
The laptop is question is having problem so I want to make sure if the hardware on laptop is alright.
So want to know if the device is relaying DHCP requests and the router is responding to them.
What commands can I try on router and how?
The OS being used is Fedora 16.

A) Server log files
B) Run dhclient in foreground mode (-d), and verbose mode (-v) from the commandline
C) tcpdump on both machines.
