Finding a wireless connection

Hi, Im new to ubuntu, and I have installed 7.10 and I have no clue where to start on finding the network and putting in the passcode then having my internet. heh its as simple as clicking 2 buttons on windows so Im not sure how it would work on linux. step by step instructions, or even how to get started is appreciated.

Please and thanks

on gnome:
System -> System administration -> Network -> sth like "unlock" or "login" you have to give in the root password after that...
I'm working in another language so i'm not sure about the wording. You'll find it anyway.
Cheers, j

btw. welcome to lq!

about as simple as typing

sudo apt-get install wlassistant

But anyway I dont think it is necessary as the desktop (on ubuntu probably gnome) provides us with a gui for that.
