I'm trying to setup samba on my home box and followed the directions here
but it seems that the winbindd service FAILS
to start. How do I set this puppy up and running from here. My network is just a home network with several windows machines. Why aren't there any scripts out there for people like myself who care to not know about the finer details of samba configuration and just want their box working on a windows workgroup.
The redhat-config-samba program just sets up shares, it could be useful if samba was working correctly. samba-swat just seems to be aimed at people who know samba configuration already but would like some UI. Sorry for my little rant but does anyone agree with me on this?
Maybe LSB was a bad choice... sleepy.. but you get the idea
