Fedora 8, 10 or 11.....nothing can detect ethernet automatically after installation.......after configuring the ethernet never got active showing the device may not present...I am using HP 520 notebook and have intel pro 100 network adapter......WHY?!?

Have you verified the correct module is loaded after boot?
ifconfig -a shows l0, pan0 and virbr0 but no eth0...lspci in /sbin shows the ethernet but cant start the networking service with the same device..but my desktop pc automatically recognise same modem with fedora all version..only this laptop cant...

Please be patient; continue to try to solve your issue under your own steam while awaiting further help. All we can do is offer suggestions and do our best, but nobody is going to fix the problem for you.
I just replied to the two earlier posts I received.......And everyone knows how tough it is to sleep when you have any problem unsolved...
I would suggest taking a look at the modules list you're getting when you use the install cd (and which are in use) and the modules list after you finish the install and compare which are in use in each case to isolate which module you need. It sounds like a simple matter of a non-loaded module after the install.
What make and model of card are you using? Is the correct module available after the install and is it loaded?
