You really want to use NetworkManager on a laptop. I've been it using on my laptop (FC5) for ~5 months at three different networks and it's wonderful. Plug in the cable like a mindless windozer and use the network. I still have to manually deal with the proxy on the one corporate net but ...

It also has a neat panel control tool that that gives you options to connect wireless.

NetworkManager manages the /etc/resolve.conf among other things.

I'm not easily impressed, but NetworkManager is a sweet tool.

try clearing ur resolve file and c if it works
