Fedora 15 naming network devices

hello friends,

I'm doing a few tests with fedora 15.

I'm surprised because they changed the naming way on network devices. eth0 is now called em1.

At every fedora I have found the configuration files in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts, but today I can't find them.

I need a light.

Best Regards!!!

They (upsteam I suppose) want people to be able to determine based on name to relate to position. Almost like another few OS's have done for decades.

It is almost no value to a home user but helps system admins on servers.

There is web page on that or few at Fedora. Basically em is embedded while the others will relate to slot position and with multi boards more detail as to that.
