FC4 Routing error - unable to route inet traffic

The problem is this - the laptop is unable to route through the FC4 desktop.

eth0 is the connection with the router
eth1 is connected to the laptop

Specifying an IP on the laptop [WinXP] (Instead of having it assigned)with the same netmask establishes a connection but nothing more

ifcfg-eth1 looks like this:

DEVICE=eth1
BOOTPROTO=none
NETMASK=255.0.0.0
USERCTL=yes
PEERDNS=no
GATEWAY=eth0
HWADDR=00:02:44:822:50
ONBOOT=yes
TYPE=Ethernet
IPADDR=10.0.0.154

Commands
service network restart
iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE
service iptables save
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward

sysctl -p
All executed fine

'net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1' is set in /etc/sysctl.conf

----
ifcfg-eth0:

DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
HWADDR=00:30:BD:27A:5D
ONBOOT=yes
TYPE=Ethernet

Running ifconfig produces this:

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:30:BD:27A:5D
inet addr:10.0.0.154 Bcast:10.0.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

TX packets:1737 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:2152123 (2.0 MiB) TX bytes:185457 (181.1 KiB)
Interrupt:11 Base address:0xd000

eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:02:44:822:50
inet addr:10.0.0.154 Bcast:10.255.255.255 Mask:255.0.0.0

collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:26956 (26.3 KiB) TX bytes:2034 (1.9 KiB)
Interrupt:10 Base address:0xd800

To setup my FC4 installation to share its internet with my laptop I have used the following guide - http://fedora-linux.nl/wiki/index.php/Internet_Delen [DUTCH]
thanks all

The ipaddress of the router is 10.0.0.138. Should that be mentioned in any config?

The default gateway on the windows laptop is set to 10.0.0.154.

Are the settings in ifcfg-eth1 correct?
