FC2 KPPP Screwed up

I recieved very little help about a previous problem with direct correlation to this one.
I am now able to connect to the internet in FC2 using "network device control". I'd much rather use kppp, but it asks for root password when i start it. Then it connects, only allowing mldonkey to connect. When I type ping and such, nothing works. Just says "check connection" very quickly. What can I do to remedy this? I'm not even sure if i can deactivate my connection, as it still says it's Inactive although my existance online belies it's claim...
Please help me out with this, i've spent all day just getting this far.

I think you need to setup the DNS server of your ISP.
I can't remember in which file you had to write it! But I'm quite positive that this is the problem
