FC14 NetworkManager service: This service is dead

I recently upgraded from Fedora 13 to Fedora 14 by DVD. All went well, I thought, but the nm-applet does not appear on the panel. I checked services and it shows the NetworkManager service is dead with the orange triangle and the exclamation point on it.
This happened once before when I upgraded from FC12 to FC13, but I cannot remember how that issue was resolved.
Any help would be appreciated.

well "upgradding" is getting better , but it still dose not work 100% all the time

my very first guess is that there are still fedora 12 and fedora 13 rpms installed on this fedora 14 box
Some fedora 13 rpm's 3 to 6 or so is normal
try running this
Code:
rpm -qa | grep fc12 > ~/fedora12list
--- and this --
rpm -qa | grep fc13 > ~/fedora13list
this makes two lists try replacing everything in the two lists with the fc14 versions
remove the fedora 12 and 13 repos in yumrepo.d ( leave the fedora 14 there)
Code:
yum repolist all
Code:
yum replace TheProgranFullname

Same error here. John VV's advice was good, it revealed 3 NetworkManager rpms belonged to Fedora 13. We recorded their names, removed them, and then installed the corresponding NetworkManager rpms from the Fedora 14 DVD. After that, sudo started the NetworkManager service and network access was returned. From there, could do an update.
