Unhappy Everything compatible yet unable to connect to router

I have a Netgear FA311 v2 ethernet adapter with a realtek 8139/8139c/8139c+ chip and a Speedtouch 530 router running a DHCP server.

The card is properly detected and identified by the system and Yast selects the 8139too module. When I finish configuring it though (nothing much to do since a DHCP server is supposedly running) I am still unable to connect to the internet. Actually I can't even connect to my router at 10.0.0.138 where its configuration page is. It pops a message that says something like access rejected or sth like that.

I've tried different modules such as natsemi and 8139cp but I still can't reach outside.

The card is not damaged or anything nor is the router because they work properly when I boot into WinXP.

So I must be missing something in the configuration.
Can you help me out please?

The system is SuSE 10.0 with 2.6.13-15 kernel. I'm using the Gnome interface.

Talking

I was about to post the output when a miracle happened. This is my first internet visit through linux!

It was indeed a configuration issue, but had nothing to do with linux itself. The router was running as auto DHCP meaning it ran as server only if no DHCP server was found. No other DHCP server is ever running however it seems it affected how linux connected to it through the card. I manually put it on DHCP server mode and it works like a clock.

Thanks for your interest!
