Ethernet wont work after applying updates

hi all
i just updated the packages via yast on my aspire one (opensuse 11.0) and rebooted as it told me to and now knetworkmanager doesnt work properly it says there is no cable plugged in when there is....
please help...

can you enable the interface from the command line? ifup eth0?

no i cant it says something about networkmanager but i have reinstalled now
