Smile Ethernet Problem, Really need some help..

Ive had a problem with most of the versions of linux that I have installed.
I have a Quad core 6600? with 8gb ram,ATI HD2600,running on an ASUS P5K-e motherboard.
Ubunto (latest 64 bit Jaunty Release) is installed on a partition, with about 150gb in total. I have Vista 64 installed on another disk (Which boots fine using GRUB)
The problems I have are :
1) I have a Synology CS407e NAS connected to the motherboards Gigabit connection, but cannot access it. The problem being if I connect to the Ethernet connection I loose the wireless one, also I have to give it a static IP, as the NAS has one (192.168.1.150), and as its not connected to a router it doesn't generate the same IP address (If i use automatic DHCP i usually get an obscure IP eg, 192.64.120.5)
How do I get the Eth0 and Wlan0 to work at the same time?
So that I can connect to my router for the internet and access my NAS, I do this without a problem in Vista (Which I don't like).

The second problem is to do with my Video Card.
If I turn on 3D in Gnome or KDE everything goes pear shaped. Its slow, I cannot access the Video settings, and my second desktop (on another monitor) just mirrors the first. Also after a few changes and a reeboot the machine just hangs when it tries to start the graphics server (Gnome), and I usually have to do a complete re install, as Im just stuck with a flashing cursor at the top of the screen.
I could really do with some help here, as I don't want to go back to windows, hut these problems are gunna turn my hair gray.

Thanks

Warren.

It's my understanding that dual monitor support is not so successful with linux unless the graphics card is specifically supported.
Both my linux machines are dual display, but i've had to install pci video cards for the second. With CentOS, the second display can also be an independant desktop as well as mirror/span.

Cheers

You have to put them on the same subnet:
Your NAS is at 192.168.1.15
Your LAN IP is at 192.64.120.5

Only the 192 part is common, so this is unlikely to work. It needs to be 192.168.x.y

"The IANA has allocated IP addresses in the range of 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 for private networks."

You are currently (192.64.120.5) outside this range.

Maybe easiest is to set up static IPs (not dhcp) Eg set your LAN IP to be 192.168.1.something_not_used

Here's a link with more information that will help you understand your problem:
