Ethernet Modem Problem - Please Help..

Hi,
I have today formatted my main computer so I can swap from Windows XP to Fedora. I now have Fedora installed on a clean hard drive (well, besides the OS, x and gnome) and it is running fine. However, I dont seem to be able to set up my Binatone ADSL 2000 ethernet router/modem correctly.

I have the connection set up as eth1, for some reason it doesnt detect the only network port in the box as eth0 but nm, and it detects its ip on startup fine, activates fine and so on.

However.. For some reason when I actually try and access a web page (or ftp etc.) the connection does not work? =/

Please help, Im absolutely stumped.

Try this:
1. open a console
2. ping 72.14.207.99

if you get an answer the problem is resolving the address ( in other words if you issue ping google.com it would not work).
To that effect you may need to edit your /etc/resolv.conf file.

Hope this helps.

I literally just sorted it out, talking to you from that box now

Simply rebooting my modem worked.. No idea why I didn't think of it before hand.

Either way, thanks a lot
