Ethernet help w/Red Hat 9 & Win. XP
 

I just purchased "Red Hat Linux 9 UNLEASHED" and have spent the past few days learning the basics of using Linux.
My computer is a Dell Dimension L433c, with a 433 MHz Intel celeron processor, 95 MB of RAM, and a 20 GB hard drive. I currently have my hard drive partitioned 50% for DOS/Windows, 47% for Red Hat Linux 9 Publisher's Edition, and 3% for swap.
For Internet I have Comcast High-Speed cable, connected to our 3 other computers, which are running Microsoft Windows XP. My network card is a Linksys 10/100 EtherFast LNE100TX. For the past two days I have been trying to connect to the Internet. I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for establishing a connection. Please take into consideration that I have been using Linux for about 6 days.
I do have prior experience programming with BASIC, Pearl, C#, C, C++, and assembly, so I wont have any problem compiling any source code. I am not however, very familiar with Linux's Programming resources, so I would prefer instructions written with the novice Linux user in mind, whenever possible. But to be honest, any suggestions for projects, books, or online resources that would help to become familiar with the system would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How is the modem connected to the other three computers? via a router? DHCP? ICS on one of the XP machines?

The Cable Modem is connected to an Ethernet hub. The hub connects to the computers though Cat-5 cable. The XP systems just use windows nteworking with TCP/IP -> Linksys LNE100TX Fast Ethernet adapter, and windows virtual private networking. this computer that i am using is a dual boot, one half for Windows 98SE, which i am using to connect to the internet though our LAN until i can get Red Het to connect to the network.

i think computers connect internet via NAT.

check windowz clients network configuration.. and do same config for linux.
