Hello!
Im running debian kernel 2.6
I have direct ethernet connection to internet on one interface (eth0) and a local network on another (eth1). Everything was running fine until yesterday, when I shut down the system and then when I booted today I had no connectivity towards the internal network on eth1.
Both cards use the same driver and were working just fine.
ifconfig returns:
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:30:05:2A:1B:A0
inet addr:130.xxx.22.113 Bcast:130.xxx.31.255 Mask:255.255.240.0

ifup eth1 tells:
SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable
Failed to bring up eth1.

and route -n:

Now I understand that the gateway cannot be reached for some reason.
I suspect some file is corrupt but I don't have any idea how to correct this.
I also assume this has nothing to do with iptables since I cannot get the interface up.
What upsets me is that I can ping 10.0.0.254, can I assume this means that the network card is functional?
What i want to determine if this is a sofware problem or if my network card is broken.
I have opened the machine, cleaned it and reseated the network card which is on a PCI slot. All this to no avail.
I appreciate any help you can provide, because right now I am quite confused!
