eth1: transmit error
 
if have the following message in my messages.log

eth1: Transmit error, TX status register 82.
Probably a duplex mismatch.
Flags; busmaster 1, dirty 8484926 current 848
transmit list 0000000 vs. ce175580.


HELP!

what to do now?

If it's the only one, don't wory. It's natural in bigger networks.

I don't think this error is common on large networks. The error is suggesting a duplex mismatch. Which would mean that one of the hosts is in half-duplex mode and the other in full-duplex mode. You should make sure they all run in the same duplex mode. Check in the kernel documentation at Documentation/networking for information on your network driver and how to force it to half- or full-duplex mode.
