eth0 problem with mii-tool


Hi guys,

i m having problem with mii-tool. i have try with following steps. i m using RHEL 3 ES.

# mii-tool -v

eth0: autonegatiation faild, link ok

ifdown eth0

mii-tool -v --force 100baseTx-FD eth0

"SIOCGMIIPHY on eth0 failed: Invalid argument" ---- >> [this the error i m getting]


# ifup eth0

can not get driver information Invalied argument.

IP_tables: (C) 2000-2002 Netfilter core team.

Please device me how to set 100 or 10 base speed on eth0.

What kind of card is it and what driver are you using? Not all drivers support the ioctl's that mii-tool uses. You could try ethtool too.

i m using REALTEK NIC card. previously there was no problem with this NIC with setting 100/10 base speed.

i want to setup 100/10 base speed and getting this error.

Please help me...
