Error Messages upon Reboot

I am currently running Suse Linux, the other day I received notification that my 10/24 backup failed on this machine because the remote agent could not be located. The box seemed to have been hung up and I could not view anything on the screen - though lights were green on the drives. I ungracefully shut down the box. On restart I have the following messages:

ifup: No configuration found fro eth1

kernel: PCI: cache line size of 128 is not supported by device

Powersaved 5799: Error in function read line

kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev fd0, sector 0

kernel: mtrr: type mismatch for fc000000,800000 Old: uncachable new, write combining

Aside from know that I am not getting an ip address, I am not sure what these messages mean or where to start to resolve these issues.

Please assist.

Thank you
AOK

fd0 is the floppy disk. Are you booting from or accessing the floppy? Is there a floppy in the drive?

You seem to be getting miscellaneous, unconnected errors--and your ethernet card doesn't seem to work. I think I would shut it down, vacuum it and be sure the cards (especially the ethernet card) are seated (press on them) and connectors tight.

Also check /var/log/messages and /var/log/syslog for more clues.

KenJackson thank you for the quick reply on my questions. I am going to do what I suggested and then I will also get the log files you mentioned and post them to see if you can help me further on these problems.

Thanks
