Error Loading https://.. Connection refused

I'm using Suse 9.1 with Apache2
I like to use a SSL connection to connect to my site.
I configured a host file home1.conf and placed it in /etc/apache2/vhost.d directory.
In my home1.conf file I put the following info:
<VirtulaHost 22.33.22.44:443>
DocumentRoot "/srv/www/ssl/home1/"
ServerName home1.com:443
</VirtualHost>

In listen.conf I put NameVirtualHost 22.33.22.44:443 and NameVirtualHost 22.33.22.44:80.

I can connect to my port 80 site, but when I try to connect to port 443 site, I get
the following error:
Error loading https://home1.com/: Connection refused.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how I should correct it.

Thanks
Rover

It's not just this typo, is it?

You should also have lines similar to:

SSLEngine on
SSLCertificateFile /etc/apache2/ssl.crt/sslname.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/apache2/ssl.key/home1.key

in your stanza - do a google on how to create a self signed certificate on how to create these two files.

Also - make sure 'home1' is added to your /etc/hosts filewith the correct IP.
Plus - reference it as https://home1 (without the .com)

One final idea - make sure you start apache with:

apache2ctl startssl

Dave

Having read my above post, maybe it would help if I posted a complete sample stanza. This is saved, in this case, as dave1.conf

<VirtualHost 10.127.190.69:80>
ServerName dave1
DocumentRoot /srv/www/vhosts/dave1
ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/dave1-error_log
CustomLog /var/log/apache2/dave1-access_log combined
<Directory "/srv/www/vhosts/dave1">
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
AllowOverride None
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>
</VirtualHost>

<VirtualHost 10.127.190.69:443>
ServerAdmin domain.admin@dave1
ServerName dave1
DocumentRoot "/srv/www/vhosts/dave1/"
ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/dave1-error_log
CustomLog /var/log/apache2/dave1-access_log combined
SSLEngine on
SSLCertificateFile /etc/apache2/ssl.crt/sslname.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/apache2/ssl.key/dave1.key
<Directory "/srv/www/vhosts/dave1">
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
AllowOverride None
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>
</VirtualHost>

Hope this helps someone - I know it's not easy...!

Thanks for your support.

The problem was the SSLCertificateFile statement.

I corrected it and now everything working fine.

Thanks
