Unhappy error connecting to windows


i have the administrator passwd of my friend who is in my lan
but when i try to see the share using smbclient it says nt access
denied..

and when i do the same on my subnet ... it gets connected...
plz help me

i use smbclient //<IP>/<share> -U administrator
it prompts for passwd and then access denied ...
plz suggest something or any other method by which i can
connect to his windows box
