Endian Firewall Snort Oink Code Forbidden!!
 

Hi all,

I'm attempting to download the SNORT.org intrusion detection updates for Endian Firewall. I have generatted an Oink Code from snort.org

Whenever i press the download new rules set on the endian firewall it gives a message. All it says is Forbidden! Does anyone know what the problem could be..??

I am not familiar with "Endian", but firewalls should run as root, maybe you are running it as yourself? Maybe it is trying to save something to somewhere you do not have write permission for.

Endian is controlled through a webpage, I have logged in as the admin user for the webpage to carry out the task. I have never had this problem with it before.. :scratch:

In theory you dont ever need to log into the endian unit as root because it changes the settings for you depending on what you tell it on the page. You can log in as root through a SSH session but i have never needed to do that.
