Welcome to LQ!

1) What version of Redhat Linux are you using. Keep in mind that support Redhat Linux 9 was stopped in May 2004. If you are running RH9, I strongly suggest that you upgrade.
The current version of Redhat Enterprise Linux is version 5 (?), which is an excellent product for servers, but not really for desktops. The successor to Redhat 9 was Fedora, with the current Fedora release at version 7.

Can you please put your distro information into your profile - it makes it easier for us to help you.

2) Unless you have special requirements, you should not use Telnet. Use SSH instead, which is a much more secure alternative. Telnet sends data (including passwords) in plain text - SSH encrypts everything.

3) How have you tried to install Telnet? You say it was "not done well" - what do you mean? Do you get any error messages? What exactly is not working?

Thank you, Ian
I've just configured SSH instead of Telnet. And now I will use SSH as ur suggestion.
Again, thanks a lot!
