dyndns, no ssh but can ping

Hello,

I setup my computer to use dyndns. I can ping my computer from another computer and I get this

ping vielma-server2.dyndns-server.com

PING vielma-server2.dyndns-server.com (71.237.223.228) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from c-71-237-223-228.hsd1.or.comcast.net (71.237.223.228): icmp_seq=1 ttl=53 time=24.8 ms
64 bytes from c-71-237-223-228.hsd1.or.comcast.net (71.237.223.228): icmp_seq=2 ttl=53 time=20.9 ms
64 bytes from c-71-237-223-228.hsd1.or.comcast.net (71.237.223.228): icmp_seq=3 ttl=53 time=20.8 ms
64 bytes from c-71-237-223-228.hsd1.or.comcast.net (71.237.223.228): icmp_seq=4 ttl=53 time=20.9 ms
64 bytes from c-71-237-223-228.hsd1.or.comcast.net (71.237.223.228): icmp_seq=5 ttl=53 time=21.0 ms
^C
--- vielma-server2.dyndns-server.com ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 received, 0% packet loss, time 4017ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 20.852/21.722/24.809/1.553 ms

But when I ssh to this computer I get this

ssh: connect to host vielma-server2.dyndns-server.com port 22: Connection timed out

On my router I have port 22 enabled.

Thanks,

Jason

You say you have port 22 enabled on the router - is it being forwarded to your computer on the local network?

I'm assuming also that you have have sshd running on your computer (ie, can you ssh into it from within the local network)?

Use above first.

Just more info.

I guess you could test ip just for grins from ping reply or digg or nslookup.
