Question Dynamic IP problem ....

I run apache server from my workstation, connect to internet thru windows 2000 server via cable connection.

Internally, my apache server can run without problems.

Currently, I try no-ip (www.no-ip.com), it trace my ip address as 202.145.15.1 but when I run http://202.145.15.1 from my browser, it didn't work.

Please help me how to make it run, thanks in advance.

Regards,

Fend88

How about when you connect locally?

Try http://127.0.0.1

Never used Apache, but if it works locally, then I would think you just need to tell it which address to...erm, effectively export to.

if you have a firewall setup (or use a store bought "router") then most of the time you will be unable to connect to your firewall's IP from an internal machine. for instance, i can't ping my firewall from an internal client, but i can from an outside machine.

also, you might wanna check and see if your cable company is blocking port 80. a lot are now, cause of code red and to prevent people like us from running web servers.

Thymox....
I can run http://127.0.0.1 and http://192.168.0.22 (my lan IP). From other LAN workstation also can access http://192.168.0.22.
How to make apache know address to ... export to?

Syncrm....
My linux workstation do not use firewall setup. One thing I confuse is the W-2000 server can run no-ip but my workstation cannot. Maybe the w-2000 server firewall my workstation?

Is it possible workstation connect to internet thru server got different ip address? I check my 202.145.15.1 (dynamic) and the server 202.145.14.xx (dynamic)
Thanks.
