I have a router for a dsl connection. i have connected few pc to it on a switch. everything works fine. the only problem is, that the external IP changes from time to time (due to disconnects from the ISP, or reseting the router and stuff).
how could i possibly write a program/script with/without SNMP (supported by the router) to determinate the external IP (i thougt of some kind of polling) and in case of a change notify myself of that change (so that I always know the external IP of my router)?
i have no clue what SNMP can do and how to use it.
