DSL on SUSE 10

How will I get my DSL connection to work properly on SUSE 10? I am already detected on the network but when I open firefox it won't load a page. Seems that internet is still not recognized. My DSL router/modem connects to my PC through lan card. I also have DHCP enabled. The router already specifies an IP address every time I boot to linux. My system also has winXP installed which I am currently using due to the lack of internet connectivity in SUSE...

does your dsl service require you to login with a username/password? if so you probably need pppoe (ppp over ethernet) installed on your system
