LinuxQuestions.org - dsl intermittent disconnect

my dsl connection works fine immediately after boot, but after a while it just disconnects without any warning. i'm a newbie so i can't make heads or tails of it. i'm on mandrake 10.1 and have a nokia dsl modem. i'm on windows xp right now on my dual boot box and my dsl seems to work fine here.

i'm thinkin it might be the LCp configs but that's really just an educated guess. i'm thinkin it might be a more fundamental problem.

i've got windows xp dual booting on the same box and the dsl connection works fine on that end so i'm thinkin something must have happened to my mandrake system. theproblem just appeared out of the blue and i havem't installed or tweaked settings for the last week or so.
