Downloadspeed slow / Uploadspeed fast

Hi,

Im running an Centos 4.3 server, with onboard IDE harddisks.

The upload speed from my windows machine to the linux machine is very good, about 25/30 mB/s. but my downloadspeed is awfull, about 2/5 mB/s.

Its a gigabit network.. when i change the cat5e cable to a cat5 i get a normal speed for 100mbps about 9 mB/s up and down.

ethtool eth0 gives No data

my driver is sk98lin

My best bet would be that you have a bad 5e cable. If it was not the cable the worst case would be that you would get the same speed between the two cables (100mbps).

I enabled now my onboard gigabit LAN and with this i get:

18mB/s Download
35mB/s Upload

so im very happy with this, but why is the upload so much more? I would prefer the downspeed is so..
