Domain Registration

Used to be you went to ICANN and registered, doesn't look like that's it any more.

Can anyone suggest where to register a domain name and address for a non-profit educational institution (looking for a .edu address)?

I think .edu domains are handled by EDUCAUSE.

Thank you for that -- I had looked at the site and forgot the name (duh).

Is suppose I'm asking about the registrar sites -- all those commercial entities that provide services -- looking for the most professional and, you know, doesn't charge an arm and leg; as I remember, it's pretty hard to get an .edu domain and we might have to go for a .org instead. Be nice to know who's good to deal with.

Thanks again for you help.

Last time I tried this, the government told me that the school had to be accredited to get an .edu.

I did not want to get "in bed" with Uncle Sam, so I bailed on the idea.
