Domain Name suspended

Hi,

I was looking up a site w/ whois. The name is suspended but the ip is still up.

What would cause a domain to get suspended?

quote from a web site:

"A domain will go into suspension if the renewal has not been paid or 30 days after expiry. It will remain in suspension for 60 days during which time all normal operations may still be carried out."

helps?
