Does KDE remote desktop == VNC?

Hello,
I am trying to run vnc (keypeble) on my Zaurus. I set up the password in KDE's remote desktop and set it to accept uninvited sessions at the default port of 5900. However, when I try to log in from my zaurus, I get a connected message at the bottom of my screen but nothing else happens. If I run keypebble from the comand line I get:
connecting...
connected, logging in...
waiting for server version...

and that is where it waits forever. I cannot seem to find much on KDE's remote desktop but I thought it == VNC since it uses the VNC port. But there is not the .vnc folder in my directory that I see referenced in vnc discussions.

As usual, I am lost. Could somebody give me a hint as to what I am doing wrong?

Thank you.

Compare keypebble's compression, resolutions and bit depth with the VNC server's.

You may have a problem negotiating a suitable combination..
