DNS working....kinda

I have set up a DNS server called Russ. I also have a webserver on another machine and a couple more linux boxes. All RH7.1. On the DNS server I can ping all the other machines I have entries for and can even load the webpage of the webserver by typing www.mabus.com (name of site on webserver). When I go to another machine (mike) that is set up to use my DNS server only I cannot ping any of the other machines including itself by name. I can by ip. But I can get out to the internet from that machine without any problems. If I turn off the DNS service I cannot get out to the internet from mike. If I turn DNS back on I can. So I am presuming that it is using my DNS server to go out to the internet but why doesn't it see the other entries for the other machines?

Thanks,
Russ
