DNS names

Would it possible for me to set up a computer with two domain names that fall in different top-level domains?

Would it possible for a server in department A has two DNS names, so that internal staff and external staff will use different DNS name of that server? If it is possible, is it in different top-level domain then?

Should work no problem. Just use the same IP for both hostnames. Apps won't care as long as the hostname resolves to an ip it can connect to.
