DNS lookups just started failing
I can no longer resolve DNS from my Fedora core 4 install. Things have been working fine for months then just quit. I can NOT ping via domain name but can ping via IP. /etc/resolv.conf is populated with the same DNS servers other machines in the network are using and the interface seems to otherwise work (can ssh to box, etc.)I checked though the few things I could think of and am looking for some guidance.

# ping
ping: unknown host

# ping
PING ( 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from icmp_seq=0 ttl=237 time=65.3 ms
64 bytes from icmp_seq=1 ttl=237 time=62.9 ms
64 bytes from icmp_seq=2 ttl=237 time=64.9 ms

--- ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 3 received, 0% packet loss, time 2015ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 62.937/64.415/65.352/1.097 ms, pipe 2

# cat /etc/resolv.conf

Thanks in advance, DQ

I found port 53 open on
Probably it's an acl issue in the DNS configuration. Contact your ISP. Meantime check with these DNS servers ->
