Smile dns fordwarding


hello everybody...

i have mi fedora3 box

with almost everything set up but iptables and dns


the server is a nat, router, dhpc client, firewall, and mail server (communigate) and miproblem is that i cannot run iptables cuz the ports are blocked and i will not received any mail , and all the dhcp clients are getting dns 192.168.0.1 wich the one i want, but the server is not fordwarding dns request. and i dont' know if a ihave to do that with ip tables.

any comments?

DNS routeing is actually DNS serving.

You need to install a DNS server and set it up properly to recive requests and forward them to the ISP's DNS server.


In slackware i know they include a small and very eazy to configure one but the name escapes me at the moment.

Im not sure what you mean here. Iptables is the program used to interact with the routeing tables with the kernel.

read the man page for iptables for more information.
